Thavorn Palm Beach Resort is an award-winning Phuket beachfront resort and it’s easy to understand why.
This beautiful property is right across from the beach, surrounded by nature with a variety of gardens, giant water slides, three large swimming pools and a range of restaurants and cafes.
As soon as you arrive it’s easy to understand why this Resort is considered to be the ultimate family-friendly beachfront hotels in Phuket. There are just so many fun things to do, so let me take you around!
LOCATION
Thavorn Palm Beach Resort is located just 2 minutes’ walk from Karon Beach.
It takes about 1-hour by car from Phuket International Airport. You can arrange private transport directly with the resort or get a taxi.
I came straight from Thavorn Beach Village Resort & Spa so it was a quick transfer of about 20 minutes with their own private transport.
It’s worth mentioning that the resort is on a prime location close to the major attractions in Phuket like Patong Beach, Kata Beach and the Big Buddha to mention just a few.
TYPE OF ROOMS
With an incredible variety of rooms there’s a lot to choose from, either you want to be beachfront watching the sunset from your balcony or you want to have straight access to the pool front on the ground floor.
All rooms are spacious with a luxurious Thai-style décor with large balconies and beautiful views over the garden, pool and ocean.
I stayed for 3 nights at their ‘Deluxe Terrace’ room on the third floor.
The room is spacious enough for two adults and one child. It has a large double bed and a sofa and plenty of space to tidy away your suitcases as well as all the amenities that I consider essential like a coffee machine and a mini-fridge.
The bathroom was also spacious with a large shower and all the beauty accessories so you don’t have to worry about taking much with you!
I loved my balcony with such great views of the pool and all the palm trees around, so peaceful in the morning!
It’s excellent value for money right in the center of Phuket.
Restaurants & Bars at Thavorn Palm Beach Resort
Thavorn Palm Beach Resort has a variety of restaurants and bars on offer. The food was just excellent everywhere!
Breakfast buffet is served daily at the Windsong Restaurant with so many good options, between the traditional Continental and Thai breakfast or many other choices like fruits, cereals, pancakes and French toast.

The main restaurant is Ciao Pizza & Grill Restaurant serving Italian cuisine and other dishes including some of the traditional Thai dishes.

This restaurant is open for guests and non-guests alike so a good option to dine by Karon Beach. There’s also Pizza Making Classes which are a fun activity to do with kids.

Coffee Talk cafe is a great beachfront coffee shop serving the best coffee, juices, amazing cakes and snacks.
Sweet Talk is the ice cream and dessert shop right in the resort where you can get so many different ice cream flavours, cakes and drinks.
I went there every day; it was just so delicious!

During the day I mostly had lunches at the pool. Chaba Swim-Up Pool Bar has the best lunch snacks you can wish for with great cocktails!

BEST THINGS TO DO & SEE
One of the highlights of the resort for me was the giant water slides which were so fun and popular with both children and adults.
It makes a great activity at any time of the day and it was one of my son’s favorite thing to do!
There’s another two pools, one with a swim-up pool bar and another further away that is a bit more quiet.

Another highlight is Karon beach because it’s just across the road. So you can go to the beach at any time.
Karon’s beach has a family-friendly atmosphere with a variety of shops, bar and restaurants.
Other popular beaches are also very close.
Kata Beach is a 5 minutes’ drive popular with surfers during the high season.
Patong Beach is 10 minutes’ drive, with a vibrant nightlife at Bangla Road and many shops, street food markets and restaurants.
Kamala Beach is also a 20-minute drive away.
At Thavorn Palm Beach Resort nature plays an important role all around and there’s more than 12 acres of gardens with exotic plants and flowers.

There’s a small petting zoo in the resort where kids can go and see animals like parrots, rabbits, goats and tortoises and also feed them at certain times.
Sightseeing from Thavorn Palm Beach Resort
You can go on a day tour organized by the resort and check out some of the major attractions on the island.
Visit the Big Buddha, considered one of the most important landmarks in Phuket sitting at an impressive 45 meters tall.
Stop at Karon Temple, also officially known as Wat Karon and see the smaller Buddha statues and learn about Buddha’s life stories.
Karon Temple Market is a great place for night shopping. It’s open on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Surrounded by nature it’s so well designed with big, spacious areas and everything you need to have fun and relax!
It’s family friendly with huge water slides, numerous pools, painting activities and even a little Pet Zoo.
The food was so good, definitely recommend you to have at least one meal at Ciao Pizza & Grill Restaurant and try the ice creams at Sweet Talk.
The room was always clean and just steps away from the pool and the beach.
Staff was really nice and accommodating making sure everyone is having a good time.
You can’t beat the location because it’s so close to all the major things to see in Phuket so it’s great value for money.

Wow, all those pools and outdoor spaces are amazing including the beautiful tropical gardens at this resort. I’m sure it’s not easy to leave to explore the area when you have so much to do and enjoy just in the resort area. The food here looks delicious also think it is a nice way to start the day or have a nice meal as you pointed out in your photographs.
This place look like a fairy tale inside the paradise that Phuket is. The gardens are and pools are amazing and those “penne” look delicious. I could not resist using those giant water slides when visiting this amazing resort.
WOW! This resort looks amazing. Love that rooms are arranged for great views and that there is a swim up bar and waterslides. Truffle pizza sounds yummy and I would for sure take advantage of a pizza making class.
Thavorn Palm Beach Resort such a lovely resort! I love the pool and swim up bar, and the lunch snacks look delicious. (In fact, all the food looks phenomenal.) I think what I like best is the gardens and lush surroundings that seem to be everywhere you turn. It looks so peaceful and restorative, with all the palms and greenery. Plus, the beach is right across the street! One could argue you wouldn’t even need it, with all the amenities on site!
Phuket is a dream destination for many, and Thavorn Palm Beach Resort seems like a perfect place to stay when in Phuket. Good accommodation can really uplift your travelling experience. Thavorn Palm Beach Resort surely seems like a great property with so much to do around. Love the setting!
I think Thavorn Palm Beach Resort has a lot more going for it than just the water slides, though they do look like fun! What a beautiful place! Love the lush landscaping and gardens, the proximity to the beach, and what looks like the most amazing food ever!
What a beautiful resort it is. The Thavom Palm Beach Resort seems the perfect place to rewind. We were planning a Thailand trip in October but then changed plans and decided to visit Europe instead. But whenever we plan Phuket next this is where we will put up for sure. The sights from the resort are fascinating.
