HONEYMOON AT CENTARA RAS FUSHI RESORT & SPA MALDIVES

HONEYMOON AT CENTARA RAS FUSHI RESORT & SPA MALDIVES

Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives is a resort located in the Maldives, a small island nation in South Asia located in the Indian Ocean. It lies southwest of Sri Lanka and India and is the smallest Asian country by land area and population.

The archipelago of 1,192 coral islands grouped into 26 coral atolls (200 inhabited islands, plus 154 islands with tourist resorts) it’s with no surprise, a unique dream destination, with beautiful clear blue waters and white sandy beaches.

Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives

For years I dreamed of visiting the Maldives and I always said I would go there on my honeymoon! With so many resorts to choose from I felt overwhelmed when I first started researching.

I had a few requirements for my honeymoon, a full week away that I envisioned of pure relaxation after months preparing a wedding abroad.

I knew I wanted to stay in an overwater bungalow, if possible, find an adults-only resort that would have some sort of romantic things to do like candlelight dinners on the beach and an all-inclusive meal plan to have an effortless holiday!

Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives appeared on this research as the perfect island to spend our honeymoon. A combination of several white sandy beaches and over-water villas, ticking all the boxes that I wanted, perfect for romance and rest.

We spend 8 nights at the resort which was just enough time to review most of what’s offered on the island and have an opinion in terms of the perfect location to spend my honeymoon and why I’m recommending it to you as your next romantic escape!

CENTARA RAS FUSHI RESORT & SPA MALDIVES

Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives is a luxury property set on a beautiful island surrounded by peace and tranquillity, the perfect resort for couples and honeymooners looking to connect on a deeper level with their partners.

Everything is set up to make you as comfortable as possible from the moment you set foot on the island. There are 140 villas which are all well balanced in terms of minimalist décor to make you feel at peace in paradise.

All villas are pretty much in contact with the ocean and the overwater villas are literally a dip away from your bed, perfect for private time alone with couples and honeymooners.

HOW TO GET THERE

After our wedding we flew in from London directly into Male the capital. We were received at the airport by a resort representative who received us with a smile and took us to our speedboat.

From the airport it was a quick 20 minute trip and the transfer went as smoothly as possible being greeted at Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives with smiles, fresh drinks and towels.

OUR DELUXE SPA OVER WATER VILLA

There are many room options available at Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives. Since it was our honeymoon we decided to choose something really special!

We stayed in the Deluxe Spa Over Water Villa that had everything we needed. The villa was large enough with a soothing light blue and green decoration and beautiful ocean paintings. Our king-size bed was placed looking into the ocean which was a delight every time we woke up.

The room amenities were carefully selected from the usual beverages and food to the vanity kits placed in the toilet every day.

Outside we had a deck with sun beds and our own private outdoor spa bathtub with direct access to the lagoon where we spend a lot of time in an out snorkeling! It was very private and we could not see anyone from the other villas.

Every morning we would wake up with the ocean and jump into the water just before breakfast. The waters were so calm that we spotted many different types of fish and little baby sharks. At night it was beautiful to go back and look at the stars while drinking champagne in our outdoor Jacuzzi.

FOOD AND DRINKING EXPERIENCES AT CENTARA RAS FUSHI RESORT

As I mentioned at the start of this article one of my wishes for our honeymoon was to have an all-inclusive meal plan. After the stress of preparing a wedding I just wanted to be completely relaxed and that included not having to think where to eat.

Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives offer just that: an all-inclusive meal plan that went above and beyond my expectations.

In terms of restaurants there are six to choose from: they are all included in the all-inclusive plan but there will be some things you have to pay extra in terms of some meals and drinks.

The Oceans restaurant is set in the middle of the island and is the main restaurant designed in a traditional Maldivian style. They served three buffet meals a day with various food choices from Asian, European, Middle Eastern and South American cuisines always presenting a special theme for dinner.

La Brezza is the Italian and seafood restaurant with a cool setup just by the main swimming pool. They had about 3 set menus (starters, main course and desert) to choose from in the all-inclusive meal plan and then some other few extra dishes. The italian panna cotta was to die for!!

[row-b custom_class=””][col-md-6] [/col-md-6][col-md-6] [/col-md-6][/row-b]

Our absolute favourite was the Suan Bua, the island Thai restaurant that we visited for lunch and dinnera few times! Similar to La Brezza they offered a few pre-set menus for the all-inclusive guests and extra dishes. The setup of this restaurant was really romantic in between the pool and the ocean and there were a few nights with live music!Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives

Then for dinner only, we had an extra option, the Al Khaimah which served middle Eastern cuisine inside an authentic Bedouin tent with tapestry carpets and candle lights. We loved it too; it was never full and felt really private!

On top of all this excellent restaurant options,  Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives also offers two unique experiences that will just make your honeymoon a time to remember! One is a candlelit dinner at the beach and the other is the sand sofa candlelit dinner on a remote part of the island with a 7 course menu which we had one night, so beautiful!

In between meals there are a few bars across the resort. The Viu Bar serves light bites, cocktails and refreshments with a beautiful set up connecting the main island to the over water villas.

[row-b custom_class=””][col-md-6] [/col-md-6][col-md-6] Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives [/col-md-6][/row-b]

Across the other side of the island near reception is the Giraavaru Lobby Bar where equally you can get refreshments, juices and cocktails. The little bay next to it was where we usually spotted sharks every morning.

The Waves Pool Bar inside the infinity pool was a great place to be during the afternoon and where we had lots of fun drinking cocktails and eating ice cream! It was surprisingly not as crowded as you might think and most times it felt that it was just for us!

WHAT TO DO AT CENTARA RAS FUSHI RESORT & SPA MALDIVES

When I dreamed about my honeymoon in the Maldives I was just looking to be as relaxed as possible in paradise! With that said I’m a big fan of water activities and I was looking for somewhere I could have a little bit of fun.

Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives has literally everything you’ll need and most of these things to do are included in the resort packages. Yay!

I must say that most of my days were filled with sleeping, swimming, eating and drinking in repeat! I particularly enjoyed how easy it was to go snorkeling and see so many different types of fish at a distance of a few steps, either from the beach or from our water villa.

The coral reef was incredible; the water was crystal clear with great visibility just off the beach.

After breakfast and lunch we normally would go around the island to see the sharks. They would come really shallow and you could see them even without snorkeling. These sharks are the black tip reef sharks and they normally like shallow waters, also nothing to be scared of as they are vegetarian!

The infinity pool was perfect with the swimming up bar and at night turned super romantic, illuminated with starts, where both La Brezza and Suan Bua restaurants had an outside area for dining.

On top of all the special restaurants there’s the Spa Cenvaree, a peaceful place that offers Thai massage as well as Ayurvedic treatments.

There’s a gym, a game room and a lot of aquatic sports to do like kite surfing, windsurfing, water skiing and catamaran sailing, arranged by the resort.

Snorkel and diving were important to me and I really wanted to do it in the Maldives; I even bought a new snorkel mask for this trip!

We did two private tours: one just for snorkel and another one for diving. Prices were ok and not very different from other places in the Maldives or even places like the Caribbean resorts for example.

We checked out Kiki Reef and Lion’s Head Reef and got to see numerous species of fish with every colour you can think of, corals of all shapes, molluscs, crabs, shrimps and even swim just close by with turtles.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives is 100% my recommendation for a wonderful  honeymoon with no worries. The island has a truly serene atmosphere and all staff went above and beyond to make us feel so happy and comfortable creating a romantic atmosphere throughout our week away.

Our water villa was a dream, the food was delicious in every single restaurant, the resort is beautiful with pristine beaches and we made incredible memories that we still cherish to this day. I would go back in a heartbeat!

I’m happy to read you had a great time during your honeymoon in the Maldives. The sea looks amazing. I thought two weeks in the Maldives might be too long. I had not considered taking a shorter trip there, perhaps this is a good idea.

It sounds like such a lovely place to stay. I’d love to go to an adults only resort. I’d also opt for the over water villa. It’s great that you are secluded so don’t need fight over sunloungers.
